Dodhara–Chandani Suspension Bridge
Long multi-span suspension bridges over the Mahakali river, linking the villages of Dodhara and Chandani — a striking local landmark.
The Dodhara–Chandani bridges span the Mahakali river to connect the villages of Dodhara and Chandani with the rest of Kanchanpur. Among the longest multi-span suspension bridges in Nepal, they are a favourite spot for an evening walk and photographs.
The crossing gives sweeping views of the river, farmland and, on a clear day, the hills beyond. It is an easy trip from Mahendranagar and pairs well with a visit to the nearby Shuklaphanta area.
Tips
- Hold the handrail and watch for wind
- Great for sunset photos
- Carry water — little shade
- Combine with a riverside stop
Free to visit.
