Practical Information
Connectivity, health, weather, festivals and the small things that make a trip easier.
SIM cards & connectivity
Nepal Telecom (NTC) and Ncell provide mobile coverage in Mahendranagar. Buy a prepaid SIM at an official shop with your passport (foreign nationals) or citizenship/ID (Nepali and Indian nationals). Data is inexpensive.
Wi-Fi is common in hotels and cafes but can be slow. Mobile signal switches to an Indian network near the border — watch for roaming charges.
